This is a musical voyage of discovery among fifty or more ethnic minorities. Languages, melodies, rhythms, voices, instruments and ensembles present a diversity of cultural traditions. The contents include a number of examples of the fantastic rhythmic music played on tuned gongs by the E-de people in the Central Highlands. The Muong, one of the biggest minorities, presents vocal music for achieving direct contact with various deities. This ethnic group is also represented by love songs and instrumental music. The Hmong, who live in the mountains in the north, have provided several tracks featuring the fantastic hmong flute which is absolutely unique in tone. There are also a couple of vocal items from the Nung minority, known among other things for their strong poetic tradition.
